Award-winning artist Emily Pastor returns to LAB the Podcast to revisit Mary, Overshadowed, the first painting in V3’s The Vision Is Jesus series, and reflect on everything that has unfolded since its unveiling.

Emily shares the hidden story of creating the work in a makeshift laundry-room studio, the significance of portraying Mary as a conquering figure holding a lily instead of a weapon, and the discipline required to bring a monumental painting into the world. She and Zach also explore her new In Part series, finding creative renewal after burnout, and the vital role of patrons, collectors, and galleries in helping artists flourish.

Together, they consider how art can awaken wonder, deepen our visual language, and lead us toward beauty, goodness, truth, faith, and hope.

V3 Press is proud to announce the debut of "Alchemy of Praise," the inaugural poetry collection of Wendy Kieffer, a lifelong Tampa resident and VU VI VO Poet.

Wendy Kieffer is a keen observer who sees the sacred in the everyday, illuminating the connection between the ordinary and the transcendent. Nimbly moving through a wide range of forms, she offers intimate, vivid poems on wonder and stillness, transformation and rebirth, grief and faith. Rooted in a love for God that celebrates Creation as a work of art, her stunning debut collection, Alchemy of Praise, invites us to attune ot the beauty of the gospel radiating both in and around us.

 ART LOAN PROGRAM

One of the impactful ways we accomplish our mission to express the life and beauty of the gospel in the world is by commissioning fine artists to create high quality pieces of visual art, based on themes taken from scripture, and making them available for temporary display at important public institutions through our Art Loan Program. The aim of the program is to help recover the deep Christian tradition and patronage of fine art for God’s glory and the good of the world.

This fall, V3 invites you to join On Beauty, a six-week Visual Art Conservatory Course designed for anyone who longs to slow down, think deeply, and discover how beauty can awaken wonder, faith, and imagination.

Together we'll read, discuss, and experience Rembrandt is in the Wind before spending a day together at the Ringling Museum of Art in Sarasota.
